United Way of South Central Idaho Announces Larissa Long as Board Chair

Twin Falls, ID— May 20, 2025—United Way of South Central Idaho is proud to announce the appointment of Larissa Long as the new Chair of the Board of Directors, effective April 1, 2025. Long brings a wealth of national experience, a creative vision, and a lifelong dedication to community service to her new role leading the organization’s strategic governance.

Long’s journey with United Way began as a teenage volunteer, a commitment that evolved into a fundraising committee member at United Way of King County and now, full circle, as Board Chair in South Central Idaho.

“Larissa’s trajectory—from her early days as a youth volunteer to her leadership role with one of the largest United Way chapters in the country—is exactly the kind of dedication and purpose-driven leadership we seek in a Board Chair,” said Past Board Chair Sarah Thompson. “Her lived experience with the mission and movement of United Way speaks volumes.” Long is Vice President of Marketing and Customer Success with RadarQR and has used her background in marketing, media planning, and influencer relations to amplify voices and causes through storytelling, advocacy, and engagement. Her background in public relations, event production, and nonprofit strategy makes her an asset to organizations like United Way of South Central Idaho navigating complex challenges in a rapidly changing world.

“Larissa’s creativity and deep expertise and execution of successful events and campaigns will be a powerful asset as we expand our impact across the region,” said Kara Fort, President and CEO of United Way of South Central Idaho. “I have every confidence she will parlay her skills into meaningful results for the families and individuals we serve.”

Long has volunteered with and advised dozens of nonprofits throughout her career. She is passionate about causes ranging from education and health equity to mental health and youth development. She describes herself as a “builder of belief”—a quality that will be critical in guiding United Way’s mission to create lasting change for communities across Southern Idaho.
